In the midst of store’s closing all around us, check to see if you have any gift cards for the following stores. If you do, you should consider getting rid of them before the store decides to stop accepting them. If it’s too late and the store does not take the gift card, you could be out of luck. As a follow-up to last Friday’s article, Beware of Bankrupting Businesses, I’m posting a video about liquidators. This is a clip from ABC’s Good Morning America. The reporters hide cameras so you can see some of the sneaky things liquidators do.
With the currently less-than-stellar economy, Circuit City has finally called it quits. They had filed for bankruptcy protection back in November, but now have hired liquidators to sell off all their remaining merchandise. They will close the rest of their stores, leaving over 30,000 people jobless.
There’s only one month between the two largest holidays of the year.Cram into that time winter weather and car repairs, the bad economy, and for my family, two anniversaries and two birthdays, with three more birthdays the month after Christmas, and you have a catastrophic monetary disaster! However, there are ways to lessen the impact of all the special days.
Every birthday guy or gal in my family is showered with gifts, cards, a special dinner, and a professional cake – that’s the way it’s been since I was little.Now that I’m married and have to deal with purchasing these things myself, I’ve come up with some ways to cut costs.
