I was cleaning out the garage and found some plant tags. The yellow daylilies are 'Going bananas', the pink daylilies are 'Rosy returns', and our most recent bloomer is the burgundy 'Catherine Neal'.

We recently dug up the weedy area behind the lone daylily. It will soon be a fire pit area with space for veggies and perennials. There are no fences and the backyards merge creating a park-like setting. I'm very excited to get this new project done!

Thank you! I got mine from Peck's Nursery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa when I was visiting. They have specialty items many of the other garden centers don't. A burgundy daylily is now blooming. It has a light yellow throat and is quite tall for a daylily. It's just gorgeous!

I love the photo of "Going Bananas". They are so beautiful.
I can never get over how well their ruffled petals look in comparison to the smpooth velvety varieties.
We love our Happy Returns (sort of like the Going Bananas) which are simply the best dwarf reblooming daylilies. They seem to thrive without full sun which is nice because I can plant them in nooks where others fail me. I order my rebloomers from Spring Hill Nursery where did you get yours?
I am with you on the hosta. I dread splitting mine up but it is 4 years old and pouring out of my shady landscaping.
Have a great holiday weekend. I'll follow you on Twitter because I too am a huge fan of staying local.
